T-Pain fans have been sorely missing the rapper’s covers of popular tracks, something he used to put out quite often a few years ago. The artist is now listening to the requests of his fanbase, promising a new album solely consisting of covers.

The project is called On Top of the Covers and will see T-Pain deliver his own take on classic rock tracks. Rather than opt for his go-to autotune sound, T-Pain will approach this set of covers all natural, allowing his vocals to shine through.

Covers on the LP will include Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come,” Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” and Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show’s “Sharing The Night Together.” He’ll also offer up his own renditions of Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me,” Chris Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey” and Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs.”

For his cover of Frank Sinatra’s “That’s Life,” the rapper will introduce a feature from NandoSTL to the classic single.

“You’ve been asking for it & here ya go bro. A T-Pain cover album to end all cover albums…..from T-Pain. On Top Of The Covers dropping 3/17 alongside an intimate set of shows. More on that later tho … so stay tuned for more updates,” he wrote in a tweet.

On Top of the Covers is slated to drop on March 17. Following the release, T-Pain will perform back-to-back shows at the Sun Rose at Pendry in West Hollywood on March 17 and 18.

In other music news, Daniel Caesar announced his third studio album NEVER ENOUGH.
