As yearly International Women’s Day celebrations make their usual approach, London’s infamous boutique hotel, The Standard, is working to champion women across the U.K by teaming up with the fierce and feminist East London Strippers Collective. The duo will come together for a unique series of drawing sessions and Standard Talks that forms part of the hotel’s cultural program.

The East London Strippers Collective primarily works to challenge sexual stereotypes and stigmas around sex work and looks to fight against safety in the industry. The autonomous organization also aims to create favorable working conditions while assisting community members with a secure avenue to speak out in adverse situations.

First on the agenda, The Standard and East London Strippers Collective will host a panel discussion on the former’s Standard Talks commission. The talk will see ELSC speak on touching subjects, including their battle for better working conditions and the association that comes with professional sex work.

A Life Drawing segment will occur in the boutique’s Double Standard bar on March 5, educating attendees on advanced artistic skills while referencing the rich history behind dancers, lovers, and sex workers through nude artwork. In addition, the showcase will feature eventful pole tricks, freestyle dancing, and more.

Find further infromation on The Standard x East London Strippers Collective’s Standard Talks and Life Drawings sessions held on March 5 via the hotel’s website.
