Jil Sander‘s Luke and Lucie Meier are masters of their craft. The design duo behind the brand has constantly pushed elevated tailoring to the forefront, proving that craftsmanship and materials are of utmost importance when creating a staple wardrobe. For Fall/Winter 2023, Jil Sander returned to Milan Fashion Week to present its latest offering, hosting its showcase in a vast warehouse decorated with duvet-covered seating that contributed to a cozy atmosphere.

While every chair offered a seasonal T-shirt to guests in attendance, the presentation began with angelic instrumentals interrupted by static speaker sounds. Soundtracked by Bjork’s “All Neon Like,” the collection walked a delicate line between futuristic edge and soft detailing, sharing candy and fruit motifs printed on casual attire. The first look was restless and arrived with a denim motorcycle jacket, contrasting white sleeves, and embossed branding matched with coordinating bottoms and vibrant red gloves.

A series of colorful leather looks followed, while Jil Sander’s signature progressive formalwear boasted similar inspiration with gentle wool notes and a sleek delivery. The venue’s sleepwear decor was mirrored onto roomy half-zip ponchos with ruffled cuffs and embroidered hemlines, working alongside double-layered mock neck tees and banded trousers. Summer-ready maxi dresses were tinted with smudged linear ornamentation, while down-filled coats and modern boiler suits were taken from another universe.

Distorted floral graphics have become a standout this season, and Jil Sander embraced the trend with its own velour iteration. Overgrown hair strands sprouted from concealed garments, strolling next to casual ensembles printed with cherries, bananas, and more. Delicate pastel tones enhanced asymmetrical suiting, slouchy eveningwear, and poplin dresses, while billowing sets were previewed with inflated elements that contoured the natural shape of the body.
