Following the announcement of the new direction for Jerry Lorenzo’s Fear of God x adidas collaborative partnership, adidas has now announced a major move for its basketball division. The German sportswear brand has now named former Nike designer Nathan VanHook as the new Vice President of Design for adidas Basketball.
Word of the hiring also comes as adidas struggles to recover from the termination of its partnership with Ye and YEEZY.
Most recently serving as Moncler‘s Head of Footwear Design, Nathan VanHook started at Nike as a footwear designer on the Nike Sportswear line in November 2008. Most notably designing the Nike Air Yeezy 2 before becoming Design Director of Footwear for Nike Training in 2013, and Nike Football in 2014.
Ultimately serving as Senior Creative Director of Footwear for Nike’s All Conditions Gear line before the end of his 12-year career at the Swoosh. VanHook left Nike in December 2020 during a time of company restructuring.
