Meet Arran Gregory's Suspended "Invisible Figures"
Made in partnership with London’s YMC Clothing.

UK-based multidisciplinary artist Arran Gregory has joined hands with London clothing imprint You Must Create (YMC Clothing) for his latest larger-than-life exhibition. Using aluminum, steel wire and crocodile clips, Gregory has fashioned a range of wooden silhouettes, suspended in mid-air, donning some of YMC’s statement fashion pieces from its Fall/Winter 2023 collection.
Four “invisible figures” stand in four wireframes, designed to be framed three-dimensional sketches, whom, once clothed, come to life; the figures are dubbed “Invisible Man,” “Invisible Woman,” “Moonwalking in YMC,” and “Fly Kick Invisible Man.” The “Invisible Figures” are currently on display in YMC’s London flagship stores located on Brick Lane and in Soho, with wooden frames ranging from vertical (250 x 150 x 100cm) to more horizontal displays (180 x 140 x 80cm / 2400 x 600 x 1800mm).

“I’m interested in the space between the two and three-dimensional, switching between both and using sculpture as a development of drawing,” Gregory shared with designboom about the eye-catching presentation.
