In two weeks’ time, Phillips will be hosting its ninth-edition watch sale, entitled The New York Watch Auction: NINE. The lineup spotlights important references from prestigious Maisons, and independent watchmakers, to rare, innovative timepieces.

Leading the auction is the Patek Philippe Ref. 1518 in Pink Gold from circa 1950, which is estimated to fetch between $1,200,000 – $2,400,000 USD. Exceptionally well-preserved and hardly ever worn, this particular example of the Ref. 1518 is also rather rare for its kind — as most iterations of the model featured yellow gold cases. More rare Patek Philippe models are also included in the sale, such as the Ref. 2499/100 and Ref. 3974J in Yellow Gold, as well as the Ref. 3700/1 and Ref. 844 pocket watch in White Gold.

Another noteworthy timepiece from the lot is the 18k yellow cold ref. G-D001 by G-SHOCK. Created in partnership with Phillips, the watch is part of G-SHOCK’s 40th Anniversary Dream Project #2 and is brought to life via an AI-assisted design process. In spite of its build composed of precious metal, ref. G-D001 still features a shock-resistance structure even without the use of resin as a buffer. It’s estimated for $70,000 – $40,000 USD, and all its proceeds will be donated to charity.

Other important timepieces are also featured, such as Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak “Minute Repeater Supersonnerie,” MB&F’s HM4, and early examples of F.P. Journe’s Tourbillon Souverain and Resonance, both with matching serial
numbers.

The New York Watch Auction: NINE will take place between December 9 – 10 at Phillip’s New York auction house on 432 Park Avenue. To find out more about the highlighted pieces and auction details, head over to Phillips’ official website.
