Official Trailer of Biblical Comedy 'The Book of Clarence'
The soundtrack features new music from JAY-Z, Kid Cudi and Lil Wayne.
Sony Pictures has released the official trailer for The Book of Clarence.
Starring LaKeith Stanfield as Clarence, the trailer gives a glimpse of how he pretends to perform miracles in the attempt of becoming like Jesus of Nazareth and escape poverty. While he is conning those around him to believe in his “miracles,” he does not have the intention of hurting anyone. With his newfound fame to elevate his level in society, he wants to make an important mark in the world, just as he sees Jesus doing. However, Clarence quickly learns that he has made enemies within the Roman Empire which sees his miracle making turn into a disaster.
The biblical comedy film is directed by Jeymes Samuel and stars David Oyelowo, Omar Sy, Benedict Cumberbatch, RJ Cyler, James McAvoy, Alfre Woodard and more alongside Stanfield. The film also features an impressive list of artists for the movie tracks, including JAY-Z, Kid Cudi, Lil Wayne, Shabba Ranks and more. JAY-Z has previously said that The Book of Clarence has been in the works for about a decade.
The Book of Clarence hits theaters on January 12, 2024.
