Pharrell‘s digital auction house JOOPITER has partnered with the prolific Japanese streetwear designer and KENZO creative director NIGO for its sixth sale. Titled From Me To You, the sale features a curation of sought-after iconic and unseen items from NIGO’s personal archives. Available for global bidding later in mid-November, the collection features a selection of items that have pinpointed an important era in fashion, hip-hop and streetwear — fitting for a man who has been at the epicenter of these three facets for decades.

A trailblazer within the community and culture of streetwear, NIGO’s auction features broad categories of luxury accessories, fine jewelry, fine watches, vintage clothing, denim and collectibles. Many of the items were worn by NIGO himself throughout his career. Some of the lots even include special pieces from his personal vintage and denim archives, inspired by his own designs. NIGO explained the reasoning for naming the auction From Me To You in a statement, “From Me To You is named after one of my favorite Beatles songs, and it symbolizes the time to finally release my most cherished, personal collections out into the world. Each item is something that I have spent time and energy to collect, and many I’ve been privileged to help create. I am sincerely looking forward to seeing how they are passed onto the next generation, and I hope they continue to live on through the next.”

When it comes to some of the more personal vintage and denim pieces from the archive, NIGO said, ““I’ve been wearing vintage since when I was 15 years old. There was a big American vintage trend in Japan in the ’80s. The Japanese hardcore collectors were the ones who came up with the manual on vintage, and the culture still lives on today. The pursuit of learning from vintage clothing continues to inform everything I do.” Pharrell who is a longtime friend said, “We’re honored to have NIGO’s NIGO’s archive collection for this auction. Looking through these pieces, it’s like walking down memory lane for me. So many of these items are from iconic moments in fashion and culture, it’s a history lesson.”

Some of the key lots highlighted in the sale include an Hermès Orange H Clemence Leather Birkin 55 with Palladium Hardware (2010) estimated to sell between $8,000 and $10,000 USD, a custom Brooklyn Machine Works NIGO bike (2005) commissioned by the designer himself that features a Gucci link chain estimated to go for upwards of $5,000 USD, a pair of BAPE STA first edition sneakers signed by JAY-Z (2002) set to sell between $6,000 USD and $8,000 USD and a pair of Vintage Levi’s 501XX Buckle Back Jeans from the 1920s. The rare denim jean is in immaculate condition and features arcuate stitching, with a back strap and
suspender buttons and is slated to go for $50,000 to $70,000 USD.

As for accessories for the wrist, the Casio x NIGO White Gold & Diamond G-Shock Watch (2019) which is customized by Jacob & Co. is slated to go for $12,000 to $15,000 USD. Another Jacob & Co. piece, namely the White Gold & Diamond Running Dog Pendant & Diamond Gucci Link Chain (2003) customized for NIGO with Co. with 14k white gold and 80.56 carats of mixed colored diamonds, the iconic running dog BBC logo pendant, on an 18K white gold and 70.81 carat white diamond Gucci link chain is estimated to sell for upwards of $20,000 USD.

The NIGO: From Me To You sale begins on November 9 and runs to November 16 online at JOOPITER for global bidding. The lots are available for public preview in New York from November 10 to 12.
