The sports-drama film sees university rowing teams compete for gold at Berlin’s Summer Olympics.
George Clooney is adding another film to his directorial roster, seeing his sports-drama film The Boys In The Boat receive an official trailer.
The Boys In The Boat will release on Christmas Day, based on Daniel James Brown’s 2013 best-selling novel. It focuses on University of Washington athletes in 1936, seeing the rowing team compete for gold at Berlin’s Summer Olympics. Inspired by true events, the MGM and Smoke House Pictures production puts high-stakes races into motion and follows struggling families in the Great Depression.
British actor Callum Turner gives support by entering the rowing team, which offers part-time work and free shelter. The eight-man squad is coached by Joel Edgerton, seeing the Washington Huskies set time records at national competitions before moving onto global stages.
Additional cast members include Chris Diamantopoulos, Jack Mulhern, Sam Strike, Luke Slattery, Thomas Elms, Tom Varey, Bruce Herbelin-Earle, Wil Coban, James Wolk, Hadley Robinson, and Courtney Henggeler.
