A new season of the NBA arrives today as October begins to wrap up while the holiday season is looming in the distance. For this week’s breakdown of the best drops in the sneaker space, Nike, Jordan Brand, adidas, New Balance, Salomon and MSCHF have all prepared kicks to keep an eye on. However, before we review this lineup of releases spread across the coming seven days, let’s review what headlines popped up from the industry this past week.

On the feature front, the Sole Mates series continued with a conversation with rapper Westside Gunn as he shared praise for Nike’s Air Force 1 while chatting about its importance. As for the news, the Swoosh had two colorways of its Supreme x Nike SB Air Darwin Low leak — revealing an off-white look and a camouflaged pair. On the basketball side of things, Devin Booker was spotted in a “Cool Grey” version of his upcoming signature shoe, the Nike Book 1. Imagery of the Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Radiant Emerald” and both the Nike LeBron 21 “Abalone Pearl” and Nike LeBron 2 “Beast” surfaced as well while rumors pointed towards LeBron James receiving a Nike training shoe release next year.

As for Nike’s counterpart in the Three Stripes, a report has shared that the adidas executive board has paused all forthcoming adidas YEEZY releases amidst the brand’s attempt to sell its final batch of inventory. It also saw two key collaborations revealed — the Y-3 GENDO Series and BAPE x adidas Golf. Rounding things out, a Heaven by Marc Jacobs x Dr. Martens Mary Jane and the Pixar x Crocs Classic Clog “Mater” had people talking.

With all of footwear’s key news recapped, we can go ahead and prepare you for ten of this week’s best releases to be hitting shelves. Afterwards, don’t forget to hit up HBX to shop styles that can be purchased today.

Chris Paul x Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Give Them Flowers”

Release Date: October 24
Release Price: $160 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: The 2023-24 NBA season is upon us and Chris Paul is poised to take another shot at winning his first championship, this time with the Golden State Warriors. The veteran guard suits up in blue and gold for the first time against the similarly-stacked Phoenix Suns on October 24, the same day as the release of his latest Jordan Brand collaboration. Taking on the Air Jordan 1 Low OG, this “Give Them Flowers” colorway sees a subtle floral texture spread across the upper of this “Light Cream” and “Sail” composition.

New Balance MADE in USA Fall/Winter 2023

Release Date: October 26
Release Price: $210 USD to $220 USD
Where to Buy: New Balance
Why You Should Cop: Spearheading New Balance’s fashion-oriented in-line footwear production, the Teddy Santis-led MADE in USA division continues to offer seasonal arrangements that utilize the brand’s popular silhouettes. For Fall/Winter 2023, the 990v4, 990v6 and 998 have been selected. The 990v4 and 998 utilize an “Olive” presentation while the 990v6 favors a “Burgundy” finish that similarly suits the season. If you’re in need of a go-to sneaker for the fall, look no further than this three-piece release.

Nike Dunk Mid “Halloween”

Release Date: October 26
Release Price: $140 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: Spooky season surges as October nears its end and the Swoosh is gearing up for the festivities with a “Halloween” rendition of the Dunk Mid. An all-black presentation is accompanied by a ghoulish green outsole and orange “Nike” hit at the tongue while a scaly texture stretches across the sneaker. Further tying it to the theme, a unique holiday graphic can be spotted at the shoe’s special sockliner.

JJJJound x New Balance 2002R “Storm Blue”

Release Date: October 26
Release Price: $170 USD
Where to Buy: JJJJound
Why You Should Cop: Montreal-based design studio JJJJound has made a name for itself courtesy of its penchant for tasteful arrangements on silhouettes from a wide variety of footwear brands. With New Balance, the duo has issued some of the American sportswear brand’s most popular releases to date and looks to add another successful launch under its name as it dresses the 2002R in “Storm Blue.” The pair balances a mesh base with suede and leather at the overlays while a gloomy color palette connects to rainy days.

MSCHF Big Red Boot “Black”

Release Date: October 26
Release Price: $350 USD
Where to Buy: MSCHF
Why You Should Cop: Love it or hate it, the MSCHF Big Red Boot is inevitable. Earlier this year, the whimsical, oversized design made its way to social media where it remained viral for weeks. From there, Crocs decided to lend its Classic Clog design to the big boot, creating a banana yellow colorway. Now, it’s time for the Big Red Boot to go undercover in all-black. If you think you can pull them off, get ready for release as this might be the last chance to grab the design.

MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon ACS Pro Advanced

Release Date: October 26
Release Price: TBC
Where to Buy: Maison Margiela
Why You Should Cop: MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon is the Rihanna-approved collaboration of 2023. As seen during her Super Bowl halftime show, the duo has capitalized on their momentum by introducing a range of collaborations with their design languages fused together. Looking at their take on the ACS Pro Advanced, three colorways have been crafted — including “Heather Blue,” “Ice Grey” and all-black looks. Each premium finish features special detailing such as glossy trims and adjusted graphic lines.

Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 550 & 650 “Masaryk”

Release Date: October 26
Release Price: $130 USD to $165 USD
Where to Buy: Aimé Leon Dore
Why You Should Cop: In addition to leading New Balance’s MADE in USA division, Teddy Santis remains at the helm of Queens-based label Aimé Leon Dore (ALD). The brand has an established history of working with New Balance and its latest capsule celebrates the Masaryk Community Gym. Utilizing both the low-top 550 and high-top 650, ALD leans on a color range that includes white, cream, green, gold and blue.

Social Status x Nike Attack “Split Vision”

Release Date: October 27
Release Price: $140 USD
Where to Buy: Social Status
Why You Should Cop: The return of the Nike (Mac) Attack has been a key story in Nike’s sneaker timeline for 2023. Utilizing not only John McEnroe, but Social Status and Travis Scott to elevate its presence, the shoe has found its place as a retro-yet-almost-new silhouette. As Social Status continues to release one colorway of the silhouette after another, its “The 1st & 15th” story continues with this “Split Vision” pair that leverages a grayscale presentation of the kicks.

Bad Bunny x adidas Response CL “Paso Fino”

Release Date: October 28
Release Price: $160 USD
Where to Buy: adidas
Why You Should Cop: Two weeks ago, Bad Bunny shook up the music scene with the release of his much-anticipated fifth studio album titled Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana. Surrounding the exciting debut, Benito’s previously-previewed adidas Response CL “Paso Fino” had two surprise drops and it is now slated for a global launch. Light and dark browns go back and forth across the mixed material build as references to Bad Bunny are scattered throughout the design.

Air Jordan 12 “Cherry”

Release Date: October 28
Release Price: $210 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: It’s been 26 years since the Air Jordan 12 first took on its signature “Cherry” colorway and 14 years since Jordan Brand decided to reissue it in 2009. Now, the Jumpman team has finally put together a launch revisiting the white and red color scheme as the AJ12 suits up in its typical leather presentation. With white situated above the red, silver eyelets and black add additional contrast to this classic pair.
