As the week in music comes to a close, Hypebeast has rounded up the best projects for the latest installment of Best New Tracks.

This week’s lineup is led by Kevin Abstract, Brent Faiyaz and Zacari with Ty Dolla $ign, who each released the singles “Running Out” and “Ave Maria” and the album Larger Than Life. Also joining this selection are offerings from Zacari with Ty Dolla $ign, Aesop Rock, Black Pumas, Yebba, Bas with Adekunle Gold, Justine Skye and Mariah the Scientist.

Kevin Abstract – “Running Out”

Kevin Abstract preps for the release of his new album Blanket (out November 3) with his latest single, “Running Out.” The new record was recorded over a three-month span in early 2023 and was created mostly alongside his BROCKHAMPTON co-member Romil Hemnani as well as multi-instrumentalist Jonah Abraham.

Zacari x Ty Dolla $ign – “Ave Maria”

Zacari gears up for the release of his debut album with the newest single “Ave Maria” featuring Ty Dolla $ign. “‘Ave Maria’ came to me at a time when I was questioning my faith and understanding who/what God is to me,” the TDE signee shares in a statement. “As a child, I would sing ‘Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep’ as my nightly prayer before bed. In high school, I would listen to ‘Ave Maria’ and other opera songs and it provided spiritual experiences and sounded like God to me. I want people to find their own spiritual experiences. My dad told me a story about him as a younger kid in the Catholic Church being expelled for asking questions in a confessional booth. This song is supposed to invite you to raise questions and find God where you feel him/her/them. Despite not possessing a complete understanding of who or what God is to me, I feel him in the harps and 808s in this track.”

Black Pumas - Chronicles of a Diamond

Black Pumas return with their newest album, Chronicles of a Diamond. The 10-track effort follows their self-titled debut in 2019 and was created without any interference from the outside world. “I knew the first record was good when we finished it, but I had no idea people would respond like they did,” guitarist/producer Adrian Quesada shares in a statement. “This time around there was a lot of pressure and expectation that we hadn’t felt before, which was overwhelming at times, but we did our best to tune that out and focus on trusting ourselves like we always have.”

Mariah the Scientist - To Be Eaten Alive

Mariah the Scientist unveils her third studio album To Be Eaten Alive, which features guests contributions from the likes of her partner Young Thug, Vory and 21 Savage. “I just feel like I wanted to use my best work. Because my other projects are more like the segment of time that I just used from a particular… Just only that I feel like this project is like there are songs that are as old as four years old, and there are songs as old as three months old,” she says in a recent interview with Apple Music. “So I just would say it’s like the best compilation for me personally. These are the songs I listen to. These are the songs that I’ve written that I like the most so far. And so I just feel like it was a good representation of my actual art, my actual expression, and also a good representation of what I like as a consumer.”

Bas x Adekunle Gold – “Khartoum”

Dreamville’s Bas teams up with Adekunle Gold for “Khartoum.” The artist, who is of Sudanese descent, ensured to release the track as quick as possible to highlight the ongoing Sudanese civil war and the displacement of over five million Sudanese people. “’Khartoum’ is more than a song; it’s a message, a call to action, and a plea for global awareness,” he says in a statement.
