The Row Fall 2023 Is a Masterclass in Understated Luxury

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen deliver simplistic menswear that’s anything but boring.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen‘s cult label, The Row, has worked hard to not be “just another celebrity brand.” How? By fine-tuning its identity, crafting a signature silhouette of minimal mastery and unmatched levels of luxury. Now, The Row unveils its Fall 2023 menswear collection, and things are looking simply beautiful.

Despite being dominated by a palette of black or beige, The Row’s Fall 2023 offering is anything but boring. It kicks off the presentation with a double-breasted wool overcoat, coming in wide and square on the shoulders before narrowing towards the foot — something we’ve seen with JW Anderson and Paul Smith as of late. Oversized tailoring continues to prevail with look three, a clean black suit comprising high-waisted straight-leg pants and a boxy blazer, as well as in look four, which offers baggier trousers and a quarter-zip jacket, serving off-duty chic slouchiness.

The Row loves silhouettes, and it also loves twisting proportions. In look seven, the imprint cinches the waist with a leather belt to allow the fabric to expand above and below, letting the boilersuit billow with its oversized and relaxed features. Coupled with the sharp collar and concealed fastening, and this is no ordinary boilersuit — instead one that taps workwear norms and formalizes them.

For something very off-duty, we find a pair of selvage jeans turned up to show their quality, as well as a pair of slacks cut high, long, and wide in look 17.

Combined, Fall 2023 is a menswear wardrobe realized in understated luxury. Take a look at the collection above, and find more on The Row’s website.

In other news, Schiaparelli’s Spring 2023 Haute Couture show has split opinions. Here’s why.
