Leica’s L1 and L2 Timepieces Arrive in Hong Kong Flagship
Incorporated with Leica cameras’ design elements.
Leica’s debut watch collection has now arrived in-store at its Causeway Bay flagship in Hong Kong. Designed with the renowned camera manufacturer’s refined aesthetics, the L1 and L2 timepieces embodied both timelessness and precision, while also incorporating elements that subtly reference Leica’s history.
The exterior of the watches was conceptualized by Professor Achim Heine, a veteran who previously designed a number of products for Leica. Adopting a clear and functional approach, both pieces feature a matte-black aluminum dial, accompanied by rhodium and diamond-plated indices and hands. Each watch is presented in a domed watch glass that’s reminiscent of camera lenses, while a red dot adorns the push-crown to emulate an iconic Leica camera shutter release.
Visible from the watches’ transparent sapphire crystal caseback, both models are powered by a newly developed manual-winding movement, co-produced with Lehmann Präzision GmbH in their Black Forest factory. Other technical specifications include 60 hours of power reserve and 50 meters of water resistance.
The L1 currently retails for $75,800 HKD (approximately $9,709 USD), while the L2 is priced at $10,800 HKD (approximately $1,384 USD). Both timepieces are only available in select Leica stores around the world, for the full list, head over to Leica’s official website.
