K11 and BUNNEY have partnered up to celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Rabbit with one-of-a-kind  GORE-TEX red packets — the first of its kind to be made from the famed weather and water-proof material.

Red packets are usually made out of paper and are often quickly disposed of after serving their purpose during the Lunar New Year, or at Chinese weddings. As a material, paper, even in its strengthened card-paper form are still prone to crease and folds, while also being easily damaged. When Hong Kong’s K11 teamed up with the London-based label BUNNEY to create a more sustainable and durable update to this classic Lunar New Year essential, they opted for GORE-TEX, which is known for its incredibly hydrophobic, biocompatible, and weather-durable qualities. The collaborative red packets come in a three-layer seam-sealed construction, complete with an easy-to-use magnetic fastening to prevent potential damage to the envelope, while also safeguarding its contents.
