Burberry welcomes a new perspective and asks us to “experience the extraordinary to find confidence, passion and creativity” with its latest campaign, honoring the Year of the Rabbit. With this in mind, Burberry takes its Thomas Burberry “TB” monogram — designed by Riccardo Tisci before his departure — and applies an apt bunny-inspired re-design, fitting the “TB” logo with playful rabbit ears.

But Burberry’s Year of the Rabbit efforts go deeper than just a collection — it culminates in the campaign video. Starring actors Qi Xi, Shi Pengyuan, and the sportswoman Zhao Lina, and captured by the video director Zika Liu and photographer Sky, the triptych approach provides a commentary on the three protagonists exploring to find freedom, as each character’s own film part plays into one larger visual dialog on creativity.

This free-spirited nature is echoed in the collection, with menswear offerings including fleece, puffer and varsity collegiate jackets all done over with the reworked bunny ear-equipped logo. An intarsia knit works this graphic monogram into the body and appears in a vivid shade of red, fitting for the Year of the Rabbit, while accessories like a cashmere scarf in the signature check pattern are adorned with the TB bunny logo, here gracing just the bottom.

However, the playfulness associated with the rabbit is emulated through tact graphic applications — two rabbits combine so that their ears make a love heart shape on another scarf, for example, while the same pattern decks a dress all over.

Black leather or white fabric can be found on the reconstructed Lola bag, with both sporting rabbit embroidery, while 3D rabbit ears spring up on a backpack.

Take a look at a snippet of the collection in the gallery and video campaigns above, and find more on Burberry’s website or in its boutiques now.
