Moncler To Take Over Milan's Piazza del Duomo for 70th-Anniversary Show
The spectacle will kick off a 70-day program of brand experiences worldwide.
Celebrating 70 years in business, Moncler is preparing to take over Milan’s historical Piazza del Duomo with an honorary artistic spectacle, directed by avant-garde Frech choreographer Sadeck Berrabah. Notably, the show, scheduled to take place on September 24 at 9 p.m., will kick off the luxury outerwear label’s 70-day program of special events and brand experiences across the globe.
Commemorating the milestone, Moncler has crafted a limited-edition iteration of its classic Maya jacket with a redesigned logo, featuring an infinity symbol encompassing the imprint’s iconic mountain cockerel next to the number 70. Additionally, the brand will introduce seven reinterpretations of the aforementioned silhouette by some of fashion’s finest, including Thom Browne, Hiroshi Fujiwara,
Rick Owens, Pierpaolo Piccioli, Francesco Ragazzi, Giambattista Valli and Pharrell Williams, in one-by-one drops beginning October 15.
“This anniversary is an important moment for us as we look back at the path taken, whilst looking ahead to the future based on what we have learnt and what we continue to dream,” says Remo Ruffini, Chairman and CEO of Moncler S.p.A. “Since the very first day, nothing at Moncler has been conventional nor ordinary. Sometimes I ask myself who would have thought that a sleeping bag designed in 1952 would have reached cities all over the world as a down jacket, would have been worn by all generations, stepped onto the runways and then be reinterpreted by various creative geniuses. Since the beginning we have always pushed the brand and our ambitions towards higher peaks.”
Billed under the tagline “Extraordinary Forever,” Moncler’s 70th-anniversary celebration will also feature a global campaign spotlighting the brand’s most memorable accomplishments, a traveling exhibition in the world’s most influential cities and a collection of seven NFTs created in collaboration with digital artist Antoni Tudisco.
