Ye Confirms YEEZY Cleats From Donda Sports Athlete Aaron Donald Is Coming Soon
Continuing Ye’s foray into professional sports.
As football fans gear up for the upcoming NFL season, Ye formerly known as Kanye West, teased an upcoming collaboration with Donda Sports star and Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle for a pair of YEEZY cleats.
In a video posted to Instagram, Ye shared a conversation between himself and the Super Bowl champion regarding what to expect for the upcoming cleat. With the caption, “YEEZY CLEATS COMING SOON,” Donald explains in the video what he is looking for in terms of the structure and make of the shoe,
“I need a little bit more – if it’s a soft material, I got wide feet, big feet. I want to be able to have my foot in there for all the cutting and stuff so it won’t be all over the place. Something with a material that’s a little thicker. I’m in the trenches so if I’m getting stepped on and stuff like that, gotta be wider for my feet because my toe problems and stuff like that. Just gotta be durable, something that could last.”
Donald’s details indicate that the cleats need to be ready for high performance, emphasizing the durability of the shoe. Back in 2016, Ye was able to get a few players including DeAndre Hopkins, wear the YEEZY 350 Cleats. However, Hopkins was later fined $6,000 USD and the shoes were banned from the NFL due to the fact that the cleats went against uniform policies since it did not have a “solid base color.” With the newest announcement and teaser from Donald, it seems as if Ye is ready to get back to the gridiron.
Donald became the first active athlete to sign with Donda Sports back in May, following the news of Antonio Brown becoming president of Donda Sports. Imagery of the upcoming YEEZY cleat has not yet been revealed.
