Bleue Burnham has been pioneering London’s burgeoning new-wave of jewelry designers for a number of years now, with his fine gold and silver pieces adorning the fingers, wrists and necks of the city’s most creative and in-the-know clientele. Now, with the launch of his Fall/Winter 2022 collection “The Secret Life of Plants,” Burnham is set for domination.
The collection “explores the deeper intelligence and sentience of the plant kingdom,” and does so by delicately examining the similarities between human and plant life. Thus, rings are littered with spore-like jewels, communicating across the piece in a natural manner as they are sporadically placed on the item. For example, the “Everything Is Connected” ring in solid recycled 9kt gold is adorned with a rainbow of round-cut sapphires, connected by a root-like system design.
For something more literal, Burnham also offers the “Plants Move in Slow Motion” gold ring, which is his largest piece in the collection and is quite literally a gold flower. “Antique” pearl necklaces sit alongside complementing brooches, while a “Rhubarb” bracelet earns its name thanks to its connection of chunky rhubarb links.
In other news, Helmut Lang has joined with UNIQLO once again.
