The final week of the summer season has arrived, and with fall set to commence, all of the biggest sportswear imprints have lined up a handsome crop of new releases to align with the seasonal shift. You can expect to see new launches from Nike, adidas, ASICS, PUMA and more, but prior to peeking at those, let’s take a primer on the action from last week.

First and foremost, our Hypebeast‘s Sole Mates series chatted with boxing champion Canelo Álvarez to discuss his affinity for luxury labels and his Dior x Air Jordan 1 High kicks. On the news front, Jordan Brand had a wealth of new releases to unveil. We caught official looks at Travis Scott’s Air Jordan 1 Low “Black Phantom,” the Trophy Room x Air Jordan 7, the Air Jordan 3 Winterized “Archaeo Brown” and UNDEFEATED’s Air Jordan 37 collaboration. As usual, Nike got in on the mix and had several releases to preview such as its Supreme x Nike Air Max TL 99, UNDEFEATED x Nike Air Force 1 “Clerks” colorway, Nike Air Max 1 “Magma Orange” and the Nike Air Max Scorpion.

adidas is still quietly battling Ye over their partnership agreements, but it still made time to show off some upcoming products. Its footwear catalog expanded with a new Gucci-designed gilded Gazelle, a NEIGHBORHOOD x adidas ADIMATIC collection and a Stan Smith range alongside Disney. Other noteworthy kicks that sprung up include Slam Jams’ Vans Sk8-Hi collab, an A-COLD-WALL* x Converse Chuck 70 Hi assemblage and the Bisso & L’Original x Diadora V7000 “Made in Italy” makeup.

All up to speed? Perfect. Check out the top 10 releases here below and be sure to peep the HBX online store for more footwear styles.

Nike Air Kukini “Leopard”

Release Date: September 20
Release Price: $120 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: Every year Nike will dig through its archives to reintroduce an old silhouette to the newer sneaker generation, and 2022 has seen the return of the Air Kukini. The 2000s runner — which features webbed uppers inspired by 90s sky suits — is set to release this week with a wild “Leopard” patterns set on the upper and Air units that are dyed with “Action Red.” Based off of its playful motif, they evoke memories of the Union-exclusive Nike ACG Air Moc from 2019.

Air Jordan 1 High “Denim”

Release Date: September 20
Release Price: $180 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS and Sneaker Politics
Why You Should Cop: Jordan Brand continues to breathe new life into its classic Air Jordan 1 by toying with its materials. Next in line for the company’s most popular silhouette is this Retro High OG “Denim” makeup for the ladies that mimics the signature tee and jeans combination. Denim materials are utilized for the overlays, tongues, Swooshes and ball-and-wings patches while the rest of the uppers are styled in a clean white. Additionally, the lace dubraes likely nod to hoop earrings based off of their circular shape, and they host “Jordan” branding in golden font.

Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Clog “Tide”

Release Date: September 22
Release Price: $85 USD
Where to Buy: Spunge
Why You Should Cop: In the world of clogs, Salehe Bembury is one of the household designers that are leading the charge. And his ongoing partnership with Crocs is being reprised as both parties have introduced a fresh Crocs Pollex Clog “Tide” colorway. Like its predecessors, the kicks are fashioned with a tonal aesthetic and take on an oceanic theme. Uppers are molded to copy Bembury’s signature fingerprint look and give the shoes unique texture and dimension.

COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS x Nike Air Max 97

Release Date: September 23
Release Price: $350 USD
Where to Buy: Dover Street Market
Why You Should Cop: Few collaborative partners have as rich of a history as COMME des GARÇONS and Nike. The two brands have worked on a variety of silhouettes together such as the Foamposite One, Air Carnivore and more, and to end the month off with a bang, the duo has reunited for an Air Max 97 capsule. Two colorways are involved in this launch, both of which are done up with distressed uppers to nod to nomadic lifestyles.

Reebok Shaq Attack “OG”

Release Date: September 23
Release Price: $170 USD
Where to Buy: Reebok
Why You Should Cop: While Shaq is no longer terrorizing opponents on the hardwood, his presence in the basketball world can still be felt through his signature footwear line with Reebok. After rolling out several Shaqnosis colorways this year, the brand has elected to bring back an oft-forgotten model from the archives — the Reebok Shaq Attack. Its OG white, blue and black colorway — which nods to his former team the Orlando Magic — from 30 years ago is making a comeback.

MMW x Nike Zoom 005 Slide

Release Date: September 23
Release Price: $170 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: Matthew M Williams pushes the boundaries of footwear design through his affiliations with Givenchy and Nike. For the latter, the talented designer has further extended the clog conversation by whipping up the MMW x Nike Zoom 005 Slide. The slip-on model features a futuristic shape with perforated uppers and a sleek midsole unit and is debuting in “Light Bone” and “Black” colorways.

Mountain Research x Reebok Beatnik

Release Date: September 23
Release Price: $130 USD
Where to Buy: Mountain Research
Why You Should Cop: After linking up on a Club C II Mid collaboration earlier this year, Mountain Research and Reebok have reconvened to engineer a new Beatnik team-up. The former’s founder Setsumasa Kobayashi nods to the great outdoors with this iteration as its uppers are formed with dark brown leather uppers reminiscent of hiking boots. Embroidered flames accessorize the uppers for added flair.

atmos x ASICS GEL-LYTE III “Python”

Release Date: September 23
Release Price: $115 USD
Where to Buy: atmos
Why You Should Cop: ASICS is not messing around this season as it has been extremely active on the collaborations front. The GEL-LYTE III has been a canvas that has seen plenty of action lately, and its momentum is rolling along thanks to its newest project alongside atmos. Two colorways are involved in this launch, one being a mostly white rendition while the other is draped in mostly black, and both come treated with snakeskin-covered tiger stripes.

Air Jordan 1 High “Taxi”

Release Date: September 24
Release Price: $180 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS and Shop Nice Kicks
Why You Should Cop: Following its appearance on the Air Jordan 12, the “Taxi” theme is now maneuvering its way over to the classic Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG. The cab-inspired color makes the strongest statement across the upper as it pours over the toe boxes, collars and lower heel overlays. Quarters are executed with angelic exteriors while solid black collars, and tongues sit adjacent.

JJJJound x PUMA Suede

Release Date: September 24
Release Price: TBC
Where to Buy: JJJJound (China exclusive)
Why You Should Cop: The minimalist design language that JJJJound continues to attract many heads within the streetwear space, and to cap off the month of September the Montreal-based company is expanding its cannon with a collaboration alongside PUMA. Justin Saunders and his crew have prepared two colorways of the classic lifestyle model — the first being a “Putty” palette while the second is done up with a “Limestone” motif. PUMA branding lands in its usual spot on the lateral walls and JJJJound hits are stamped inside the heel windows.
