Acne Studios' Distortion Bag Campaign Is a Psychedelic Trip
Keisuke Otobe gets wavy, baby.
Acne Studios continues to carve out its niche in the accessories world with its newly-released Distortion bag, and to celebrate the drop, the Jonny Johansson-helmed imprint has enlisted Keisuke Otobe to capture the bags in a psychedelic campaign.
Tokyo-native, Milan-based Otobe was born in 1977 and honed his craft at the Fondazione Studio Marangoni in Florence when he was just 19. From here, the visual artist has developed a signature centered around the concepts of distortion and psychedelia, with images being scanned haphazardly to create the desired wobbly aesthetic.
This lends well to Acne Studios’ Distortion bag, a new asymmetrical silhouette that’s almost trapezoid in shape. It comes in a range of make-ups, from a signature semi-matte black leather finish to ones in “Azure Blue,” “Chocolate Brown” and “Cognac Brown,” while further iterations appear in hairy cow printed leather and croc patent printed leather, in sizes regular or mini.
The campaign plays into the shape of the bag, accentuating the distorted shapes, top handle and metal logo plaque on the front of the bag that reads Acne Studios’ moniker.
Take a look at the campaign above and purchase the bags online or in Acne Studios’ stores worldwide now.
