Ye Accuses adidas of Implementing YEEZY Day Without His Approval
He also claims that the Three Stripes picked colorways, hired team members and lied about production capacity.
Despite all of the money, success and attention that Ye has garnered for the adidas brand, it’s no secret that the relationship between the two parties have been rocky at times. And now it appears that the creative genius and the German sportswear giant have run into another issue as the former has taken to IG to claim that the brand integrated the YEEZY Day initiative without his stamp of approval.
According to a DM that Ye sent out to multiple outlets, he rants about multiple items that have been put into place without his green light. This includes everything from rolling out YEEZY Day, restocking certain colorways, hiring people that previously worked with him, hiring a YEEZY general manager, choosing styles and materials, lying about not being able to produce more YEEZY Slides and more, making its own YEEZY Slide variation and more. According to the Donda artist, YEEZY sales make up 68% of the Three Stripes’ online sales. While this isn’t officially proven, it’s certainly believable considering how many consumers are drawn to the brand because of Ye’s co-sign.
