Sean Wotherspoon and adidas Originals' Hot Wheels Collab Revs Into Action

Sean Wotherspoon and adidas Originals‘ collaborative partnership continues, but not as you expected it — the threeway collaboration that introduces Hot Wheels into the mix is finally, and officially, happening.

Leading the collaboration is Wotherspoon’s adidas Originals Superturf Adventure and the latter’s signature slide, the Adilette. For the former, the three-way partnership takes the retro-inspired sneaker and applies a mesh underlay in white before strapping the uppers in synthetic white leather. Here, intersectional webbing in purple, baby blue and baby pink work their way across the middle, forming a reference to adidas’ Three Stripes iconography, while a yellow synthetic piece works the eyestay placket like a surrounding bumper for the blue tongue, itself hidden by a zipper in red and white.

Rope laces, Hot Wheels’ slogan “It’s not the same without the flame,” and adidas branding can all be found from a birdseye view, while at the rear, more baby blue works alongside red webbing tabs and swappable velcro-attached patches that continue the theme of the collaboration.

As for the Adilette, the trio applies a flame graphic intertwined with the “SW” signature all over a blue base. This sets the tone for the accompanying capsule collection, spotlighting a multi-branded race jacket, long sleeve mesh T-shirt, cotton tee, trail shorts, a bucket hat and a reversible tote bag.

Apparel, accessories and the Adilette will drop on August 18 on CONFIRMED and at Round Two, while sign-ups for the three-way Superturf Adventure open from August 18 and drop on adidas and at a selection of retailers globally on August 25.
