The Prada Nylon Anorak Jacket of Frank Ocean Fame Appears for $6,500 USD
The musician wore the piece for his 2019 ‘W Magazine’ shoot.
Frank Ocean‘s connection with Prada fits just right. The elusive musician-turned-jewelry designer donned a security guard-esque Prada ensemble for his double-act as a photographer at the 2019 Met Gala, since linking up with the house for its Spring/Summer 2020 campaign and teaming up with Prada with his own label, Homer, for a very exclusive collaboration. He’s made his love for the Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons-helmed house no secret, singlehandedly making certain Prada pieces incredibly sought-after, such as this nylon anorak jacket that’s appeared for sale through the luxury consigner Justin Reed.
Unlike his previous uniforms, this particular jacket is renowned for its bold choice of colors. Ocean wore it as the key piece in the Tim Walker-lensed shoot for his 2019 W Magazine interview, and it has since become a much-needed garment for Ocean and Prada fans alike.
The jacket in question plays on Prada’s signature nylon anorak design, featuring a triangular metal plaque on the chest backed by Saffiano leather, the very same material used for the half-zipper and chest pouch zipper. You’ll find Prada’s tag on the interior, poppers on the concealed flap closure to keep things neat and tidy, and drawcords up top and below to adjust the fit.
Justin Reed’s example is in mint-pre-owned condition and is a size S. Take a closer look at the piece above, and purchase it online for $6,500 USD.
