Pick & Cheese is the World's First Cheese Conveyor Belt Restaurant
Inspired by Japan’s kaiten sushi restaurants.
For artisanal cheese lovers, “Pick & Cheese” is the world’s first cheese conveyor belt restaurant. From The Cheese Bar, the unique concept is located in West London at the Seven Dials Market.
According to owner, Mathew Carver, the idea came to him after reading about the person that invented Japan’s kaiten conveyor belt sushi restaurants to make sushi more accessible and appealing. Ultimately deciding that the conveyor belt concept could help make enjoying cheese less intimidating.
At Pick & Cheese, guests seated at the bar can pick from revolving offerings of regularly changing cheeses, sourced from around the United Kingdom. Also paired with accouterments, off-belt items and small producer wines, plates are color-coded by price and calculated at the end of meals.
Additionally, Pick & Cheese offers an all-you-can-eat special every Wednesday, featuring bottomless cheese and charcuterie for 75 minutes, for £25 GBP (approximately $29 USD) per person.
