New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson suffered a non-contact injury in Friday’s preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Shortly after the match, Wilson was diagnosed with a bone bruise and a meniscus tear, which will require arthroscopic surgery on his right knee — sidelining him for two to four weeks.

The play occurred halfway through the first quarter, as Wilson scrambled out of a play-action pass to run for about a six-yard gain. Although a sigh of relief for Jets fans, non-contact injuries are still some of the most worrying — especially for quarterbacks. Think Odell Beckham Jr.’s ACL tear in the past Super Bowl, Jimmy Garoppolo in 2018, the list goes on.

According to a report by ESPN, the Jets are still hopeful that Wilson will be ready for their opening game against the Baltimore Ravens on September 11.

Elsewhere, Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton has joined the Denver Broncos ownership group.
