The Sandbox Partners With Tony Hawk and Autograph for the Metaverse’s Largest Skatepark
Featuring a number of NFTs based on the pro skater’s career.
In its latest partnership, The Sandbox is teaming up with pro-skateboarder Tony Hawk and NFT solution platform Autograph to build the largest Metaverse skatepark to date.

The skatepark will be built on a 6×6 LAND and is dedicated completely to Tony Hawk and will feature themed experiences. Through Autograph a series of NFTs inspired by Hawk’s career, most iconic skateboards, equipment, and apparel will be available. Included in these digital collectibles is Hawk’s skateboard that he used to land the 900 at the X Games in 1999.
Sandbox will then make the Autograph NFTs interoperable in its open metaverse, turning the high-fidelity assets into 3D voxel counterparts that will unlock in-game functionality and added utility.
“I have been a fan of new technology all of my life – from the first videogames and home computers with CGI capabilities – so I am fascinated by the metaverse, and excited to bring our culture into the landscape,” said Tony Hawk.
The 12-time consecutive world champion has had quite a few games and products created in inspiration of him over the years. The total number of games alone currently stands at 20, with some of the most popular being the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series and the 2003 title Tony Hawk’s Underground.
This is not the first time Autograph and Hawk have teamed up, in mid-April, the inaugural Hall of Fame skater released an NFT collection that came with the chance of getting a physical skate deck signed by him.

Animoca Brand’s The Sandbox continues to attract the attention of collectors and celebrities alike. Currently the metaverse platform has seen over 300 collaborative efforts with celebrities and brands like Paris Hilton, Snoop Dogg, Gucci and more.
