Dior No Longer Requires Valentino To Compensate for Lost Revenues After Couture Show Debacle
Citing “cordial relations” and a change of heart.

Earlier this month, Valentino debuted its Fall/Winter 2022 Haute Couture in at the Spanish Steps in Rome. The show caused a spectacle and drew audiences due to the A-list guests. Due to its location, neighboring flagship stores around the steps noted that there were disturbances due to a lack of foot traffic.
Dior filed the main complaint against Valentino. In a letter directed to the Italian brand, Dior requested compensation of €100,000 EUR (approximately $101,000 USD) from Valentino since the show caused the store to lose out on important revenue. Despite the fact that Valentino obtained the rights to host the show on the steps, Dior has noted that foot traffic was affected and therefore “hampered” with business.
However, it appears that Dior has had a change of heart. WWD has reported that Dior is now asking Valentino to disregard the previous letter that demanded the compensation. They have citied “cordial relations” and that there is “mutual respect” between both fashion houses. The letter was first sent by the retail manager of Christian Dior Italia.
