Throughout the course of 2022 thus far, Bodega has heavily leaned into the collaborative realm, especially on the footwear front. After linking up with ASICS for a Summer-friendly GEL-MC PLUS team-up, the streetwear retailer is now aligning with New Balance to manufacture a 574 Legacy collection inspired by the principle of being “internationally known and locally respected.”
The 574 has become widely appreciated for its understated style and affordable price point. Its precedent and influence has spread across the globe, which is something that Bodega can strongly relate to as it has expanded its brick-and-mortar from Boston to LA and tapped into markets overseas throughout its lifespan. In this capsule, the two parties have readied “Departure” and “Arrival” colorways, both of which are done up with primary yellow and blue color schemes and engineered with era-specific materials. Tongues swap out the traditional New Balance branding for a co-branded globe logo.
For its campaign, Bodega tapped rapper Larry June to model the new pieces. The Bay Area native gets laced up in both respective colorways and is shot rocking a matching gray quarter zip and sweatpants number that features embroidered branding.
Looking to cop? The full collection officially drops on July 15 via Bodega.
