UNIQLO Announces "JOIN: THE POWER OF CLOTHING" Sustainability Campaign
Featuring Doraemon Sustainability Mode items made with 100% recycled fibers.
Furthering its sustainability aims, UNIQLO has now announced “JOIN: THE POWER OF CLOTHING,” a global campaign to support activities for a better world.
Spanning from July 1-July 31, the campaign serves to encourage UNIQLO customers to join in environmental sustainability efforts: “Buy and JOIN” and “Learn and JOIN.” The two main initiatives raise awareness of global problems such as ocean pollution and inspires action that makes the world a better place.
For the “Buy and JOIN,” UNIQLO will be offering products made with polyester recovered from plastic bottles and Blue Cycle Jeans, denim that uses up to 99% less water in construction, along with Doraemon Sustainability Mode. Crafted with 100% recycled fibers, the Doraemon Sustainability Mode T-shirt, Pocketable Bag and Plush Toy all feature a bright green Doraemon character, the UNIQLO Global Sustainability Ambassador. UNIQLO’s parent company, Fast Retailing, will donate up to $1 million USD from the profits of sales of campaign items to the Nippon Foundation to support activities that reduce ocean waste.
The “JOIN: THE POWER OF CLOTHING” Doraemon Sustainability Mode items will be available from UNIQLO July 1. Also, head over to the “JOIN: THE POWER OF CLOTHING” campaign site to learn more about environmental issues and how to take action.
