Manchester United and adidas Originals Launch '90s-Inspired Capsule
Looking back at one of the club’s golden eras.

Following on from the launch of the “Pulsebeat” collection recently, Manchester United has unveiled a new collection alongside adidas Originals. The new collection takes inspiration from the early ’90s, with nine pieces including retro jerseys, graphics and archive-inspired designs.
The stand-out items include the the retro red home jersey and green striped goalkeepers kit. Alongside these pieces, the collection also includes a full Superstar tracksuit — complete with vintage club crest and adidas Originals Trefoil logo — as well as graphic T-shirts and sweatshirts featuring an archive graphic of club mascot Fred the Red.
Launching the collection, adidas design director Inigo Turner said:
“From the apparel itself and its respective imagery, we wanted to perfectly capture the essence of the early 90’s – a truly golden era for the club. We delved deep into our archives and drew a lot of inspiration from magazine sales catalogues from those years and their unique aesthetic and vibe.
Our partnership with the club goes back a long way, so we wanted to take the opportunity to really reflect on some of that history and bring a small piece of the heritage to the modern day with a retro collection that celebrates the relationship and culture that surrounds it.”
The collection is available now via the adidas web store and at official club stores.
