Mark Gonzales Receives His Own "Shmoo"-Covered adidas UltraBOOST DNA
Featuring “Shmoo” camo, reflective details and a black BOOST sole unit.
Mark “Gonz” Gonzales is one of the most influential and important skateboarders of all time, and his profession has resulted in him working with the likes of Snoop Dogg, Supreme, and of course adidas Skateboarding — most recently on the Superstar ADV — and now adidas taps the multihyphenate once again, this time giving him his own UltraBOOST DNA.
Presented in “Grey Three/Core Black/Shadow Navy,” this UltraBOOST DNA comprises a full Primeknit upper and the signature full-length BOOST sole unit — but the running shoe’s familiarities stop there. Gonz adds his archetype “Shmoo” graphic across the Primeknit, intersecting this with a reflective thread for a design that’s quintessentially Gonz, injected with fun all over. The design is almost camouflage-esque, while a semi-translucent grey Three Stripe-incorporating lace cage covers the busy design.
Elsewhere, more “Shmoo” graphics adorn the tongue tab, while “UltraBOOST” branding appears on the heel cage as expected. Here, it’s tinted black, just like the full-length BOOST midsole that’s lined with a Continental outsole for added grip.
Gonz’s adidas UltraBOOST DNA can be seen above and bought from retailers such as Asphalt Gold on June 11, where it will retail for €179 EUR (approx. $188 USD).
