Goldin Auctions has auctioned off a 2003-04 UD “Exquisite Collection” #78 LeBron James Signed Rookie Card.

The trading card is one of 99 and has Gem Min 9 grade from BGS with the signature graded a perfect 10 by Beckett. According to the auction house, the card realized a final sale price of $1,092,000 USD. In his two decades in the NBA, James has garnered many accolades including MVPs, championships and annual All-Star recognition. From the moment he stepped foot in the league, James remained a force, entering as a young phenomenon from Akron, Ohio who was at the time, the second high school player in history to be selected as the first overall pick in the NBA draft. He was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003, becoming the youngest Rooke of the Year in NBA history, averaging more than 20 points per game in his first year in the league.

James continues to add to his list of successes as a four-time NBA champion in 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2020 and a two-time Olympic gold medalist in 2008 and 2012. The accomplishments are just the tip of the iceberg, as off the court, James has made a splash as well. The incomparable basketball star has penned a blue ink signature to make the collectible ultra-rare. The trading card presents a tri-color James-worn jersey patch relic and is a limited-edition piece with the serial number “19/99.”

In case you missed it, LeBron James is eligible for a two-year $97 million USD extension with the Los Angeles Lakers.
