Jason Momoa is slated to star in, write and executive produce an upcoming Apple TV+ drama series titled Chief of War.

According to Variety, the series focuses on a portion of history that “follows the story of the unification and colonization of Hawaii.” The show is set for an eight-episode order at the moment. Momoa will be penning the script alongside Thomas Pa’a Sibbett, who will also be executive producing the series with Francis Lawrence, Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, Erik Holmberg and Doug Jung.

Chief of War marks the second Apple series that is led by Momoa. He currently stars in See, a post-apocalyptic future where almost all the remaining humans lose their sense of sight. The show has already been renewed for a third season. The show will also be the first TV script Momoa has written. Stay tuned for more information on the release date.

Elsewhere in entertainment, Kid Cudi is set to star in John Woo’s action-thriller Silent Night.
