Bored Ape Yacht Club and SUPERPLASTIC Team Up on Vinyl Collectibles
“SuperBored” will be a timed open edition drop.

SUPERPLASTIC, the global entertainment brand behind digital celebrities Janky & Guggimon, has teamed up with Bored Ape Yacht Club to create vinyl art toys based on the popular NFT project.
The vinyl art toys, called “SuperBored,” are produced by SUPERPLASTIC and feature caricatures used in the BAYC universe. The crossover will be a timed open edition drop starting at 1 p.m. ET, with each edition available for 15 minutes. The vinyl figures are priced at $222 USD and will be limited to two of each variant per order.
There will be special editions available for BAYC and SUPERPLASTIC NFT holders, alongside figures available to non-NFT holders. The schedule of the drop will play out as follows: BAYC NFT holders will get access to “BAYC Curtis” for 15 minutes; Superplastic Cryptojankyz & Headtripz NFT holders get access to “Superplastic Skipper” for 15 minutes; MAYC NFT holders get access to “MAYC Curtis” for 15 minutes; and the general public will gain access to “Public Curtis” and “Public Skipper” for 15 minutes.
Founder and CEO of SUPERPLASTIC Paul Budnitz told HYPEBEAST that the partnership between the two web3 brands bloomed organically.
“We already owned an Ape and used it as a model for the first toy, and the BAYC team worked with us on concepts, designs and story development,” he explained. “Everything came together super-fast and it’s been a wildly fun ride, like most things in the NFT & web3 universe.”
Budnitz also spoke of the alignment between the BAYC and SUPERPLASTIC, saying that they “share the same friends and family.”
“Both brands are about fashion, art, and telling stories,” he explained. “And both SUPERPLASTIC and BAYC choose to leapfrog traditional roadblocks that f*ck up creativity and do things in totally new ways.”
The drop will be available for purchase on April 14 through SUPERPLASTIC‘s website, beginning at 1 p.m. ET.
