Prime Video is reportedly in neogtiations to produce a live-action TV series based on the major PlayStation franchise, God of War.

According to sources, Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby of The Expanse, The Wheel of Time executive producer/showrunner Rafe Judkins, Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions will all collaborate for the series. No statements from Sony and Amazon Studios, the two companies which will likely co-produce, were shared.

The reports arrive shortly after Walton Goggins was cast in a lead role in Amazon Studios and Killer Films’ upcoming Fallout TV series adaptation. Amazon Studios is also currently developing an adaptation of Mass Effect. “You will see us continuing to invest in fantasy genres of all kinds,” Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke said in late 2021. “We have a genre-focused team on the ground in Studios who work tirelessly with our creative partners on those slates, and you can look forward to more.”

God of War: Ragnarok, the eight title in the video game franchise, is set to release for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 this year.

Elsewhere in entertainment, The Walking Dead announced its fifth spinoff.
