The Air Max Day kicks come packaged with removable patches.

You can always expect Nike to gear up for new releases in March in celebration of its annual Air Max Day holiday. This year, the brand has a handful of new footwear styles in the pipeline, and one silhouette that will be highlighted this year is the Air Max 1 in commemoration of its 35th anniversary. A handful of colorways of the Tinker-designed model are expected to drop including this Nike Air Max 1 PRM “Wabi-Sabi” makeup that has now been officially unveiled.
For context, Wabi-Sabi is a Japanese concept that references the appreciation of imperfections, which is probably why you’ll find an array of blueprint-like details throughout the shoes. From a palette standpoint, earthy tongues take the wheel here. Various shades of brown split between the suede mudguards, olive dresses up the heel overlays and Swooshes, a mustardy yellow fits the lower throat and a pale beige hue dons the quarter overlays. Exposed stitchings outline nearly every panel of the base layer as well as the forefoot Swooshes to give the kicks a deconstructed look, and “XXXV” is embroidered into the lateral heel to call out its 35th anniversary. Heels forgo the traditional Nike Air branding and are crafted with a Nike smiley face, and the tongues now have windows for you to personalize with the various patches that the shoes come packaged with. Downstairs, the midsoles are fashioned with a creamy exterior that bears crack-like patterns, and these are glued above gum soles.
Take a closer look at the pair in the gallery above and anticipate a launch to go down exclusively in the Asia-Pacific and Latin America regions on March 26.
For other news, the LeBron x Nike Dunk Low “Fruity Pebbles” is revealed.
