Von Miller Leaves Los Angeles Rams, Signs With Buffalo Bills on Six-year Contract
The linebacker’s deal is reportedly worth $120 million USD.
Von Miller has officially signed a six-year $120 million USD deal with the Buffalo Bills in free agency. The eight-time Pro Bowl linebacker is leaving the Los Angeles Rams after winning the Super Bowl LVI championships against the Bengals earlier this year.
ESPN has reported that the deal includes $51.5 million USD guaranteed, plus $45 million USD fully guaranteed at signing. The Bills are also adding free agent tight end O.J. Howard to its roster on a one-year contact worth $3.5 million USD that could potentially be worth up to $5 million USD.
Joining the Bills’ roster, Miller has immediately become the best pass-rusher on the team. With his addition, the Bills have filled the gap for a defense dominant player. Last season, Miller had 41 pressures. The Bills’ team-high of 37 pressures by Jerry Hughes, the second-highest rate last season. Miller was a key piece to the Rams’ win last year and recorded five sacks of the Rams in eight regular-season games. He was ranked 12th in ESPN’s pass rush win rate metric at 20.9%. During the Super Bowl, he sacked Cincinnati Bengals’ Joe Burrow twice to lead the Rams to victory.
Miller currently leads all of the NFL‘s active players with 115.5 sacks in his career. He is also a two-time Super Bowl champion.
