Callum McGinley and Rockwell Princely‘s London-based footwear label notwoways may have only been around since 2020, but it has already captured the hearts of sneakerheads far and wide. Known for putting its authentic stories and attitude towards creating a product for the masses before buzzwords, the brand is now entering Spring/Summer 2022 with its latest release — the “syzygy.”

Despite dropping the A-R-W “apricity” in the brand’s biggest quantity to date back in December, notwoways is back with another limited release. Just 2000 pairs of the “syzygy” are up for grabs, matching the sell-out “moonless” silhouette from 2020. And of course, the brand continues to elevate its design while maintaining its sustainable efforts throughout the shoe.

For example, full-grain leather uppers have been used and appear in white alongside black premium faded nubuck, with the latter sporting a light emboss. Elsewhere, recycled mesh and rubber have been used on the underlays, with more recycled materials comprising the Phylon sole unit which has been made from plastic bottle cap pieces.

The sole unit has also been revised for this pair, featuring a less chunky profile specifically seen at the heel and a reworked inside shape for better foot support. Sneakerhead musts such as avoiding wrinkling have been addressed, while an eco-friendly water-repelling layer has been added to the shoe so you don’t need to spray them to keep the pair fresh.

notwoways’ signature graces the lateral front quarter and more branding adorns the tongue tag as per usual, while an orange paisley pattern lines the interior side of the tongue. The result is arguably notwoways’ best pair — and while the brand is often celebrated for continuously updating itself, the “syzygy” feels like the most accurate representation of what notwoways is meant to be.

Coming in sizes UK 3 to UK 13, the notwoways “syzygy” will drop on February 28 at 6 p.m. GMT (1 p.m. EST) and will cost just £110 GBP, or roughly $148 USD. Find out more on notwoways’ website and Instagram page.

Elsewhere in the footwear world, Wales Bonner’s adidas Originals collaboration for FW21 is almost here.
