Sotheby’s is set to auction a piece of Kobe Bryant NBA history. On January 22, 2006, Bryant score a monumental 81-points agains the Toronto Raptors, marking the second highest points scored by any player in a single NBA game. Wilter Chamberlain, who scored 100-points in a game in 1962, still holds the record.

In honor of one of Bryant’s greatest achievements and landmark games, Sotheby’s is auctioning off the Black Mamba’s Los Angeles Lakers shooting shirt worn by the legend prior to his 2006 game. The bidding for the single lot will start at $200,000 USD. This marks the first time Bryant-worn memorabilia has hit the auction block. The owner of the piece will also be offered a one-of-one NFT designed by Karvin Cheung, creator of Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Basketball, which are amongst some of the most valuable sports trading cards. The animation created by Cheung also celebrates Bryant’s landmark achievement.

The winning bidder has the option of making the final payment in cryptocurrency. Sotheby’s is accepting Ethereum, bitcoin or USD Coin. The shirt is currently on view for the public in the Sotheby’s Los Angeles gallery until February 21. For more information on the sale, stay tuned on Sotheby’s. Bidding is now open until February 22.
