Holzweiler Draws on Weather-Beaten Textures For FW22

Norwegian label Holzweiler has sought inspiration from treacherous weather and the effects it can leave on our environment for its Fall/Winter 2022 collection.

Showcased at Copenhagen Fashion Week, Holzweiler draws on distressed hems, peeling paint, natural patinas and the beauty of decay, for an extensive collection extending from workwear inspired outerwear, to casual tailoring and elevated jersey pieces.

Focused on replicating the organic reaction of weathering that can be left on surfaces and textures in various ways, many garments boast intentionally-distressed edges and hand-painted prints. Technical materials also play a major role this season, most notably a heat reactive fabric on a quilted jacket that when exposed to heat switches color.

There are also heartwarming nods to stories about firefighters, volunteers and families helping each other amidst a chaotic world. Pops of orange in the collection are a tribute to those who constantly work to keep the world safe, while splashes of yellow have been inspired by research into weather temperature maps, where yellow is the signature colour for “in the middle”.

Take a look at Holzweiler’s FW22 collection in the slideshow above and watch the show below.
