H. Moser & Cie Updates Endeavour Perpetual Calendar With "Cheat Sheet" Limited Edition
The 20-piece limited edition joins a serially produced model with bare dial.
H. Moser & Cie has referenced the simplicity of its unique perpetual calendar and the minimalism of its brand aesthetic with a limited edition that bears all on the dial.
In 2005, Moser developed a foolproof perpetual calendar with watchmaking genius Andreas Strehler that was simple to adjust, easy to read and difficult to damage, all sticking points with traditional perpetual calendars, as discussed here.
The watch single-handedly informed H. Moser & Cie’s design direction and paved the way for the brand to debrand many its watch dials, removing almost all details, up to and including its own logo.
To celebrate the 2005 perpetual calendar, H Moser & Cie is dropping both an updated version of its 42mm Endeavour Perpetual Calendar Funky Blue from 2015 in 18K white gold – with a logo in transparent lacquer – and a 20-piece limited edition that goes in the opposite direction with a series of “cheat sheet” annotations on the dial, explaining the watch’s functions.
If the concept seems familiar that’s because Paris-based satirical watch modder Seconde/Seconde – who has worked with Moser before – consulted on the idea.
Inside is a hand wound HMC 800 manufacture calibre beating at 2.5Hz with a seven day power reserve.
The watches, secured on kudu leather straps, are available now via H. Moser & Cie, priced CHF 54,000 and CHF 59,000 respectively (approximately $58,400 USD and $63,800 USD).
Elsewhere in watches, HYPEBEAST goes watch-spotting at the Super Bowl LVI Final.
