Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin has revealed that he has seen the new HBO spin-off series House of the Dragon.

In a blog post, Martin expresses his excitement for the series provides his stamp of approval. He wrote, “Exciting news out of London — I am informed that shooting has WRAPPED for the first season of HOUSE OF THE DRAGON.” He reveals that he has seen rough cuts of a few of the ten episodes and is “loving them.” While he praises that “the writing, the directing, the acting all look terrific,” he agrees that there is still work to be done in terms of post-production.

The events in the House of the Dragon are set 200 years prior to Game of Thrones making the show a prequel to the fantasy series. The story follows the House Targaryen with events leading up to the Targaryen civil war and the actual war itself. Deadline previously reported that HBO plans on debuting the series sometime this year, though no specific date has been set.

Stay tuned for more information.

In case you missed it, Stranger Things will end with season five after two-part season four.
