Byredo Crafts a "Wearable Blanket" With Reborn in Color
The “Washed-Out Black” and “Bubblegum Pink” jackets are made from 100% recycled down blankets.
Ben Gorham‘s Byredo has been experimenting with more than just fragrances as of late, and following on from its OJAS speaker-diffuser, Valentine’s Day drop, and Our Legacy WORKSHOP collaboration comes Byproduct 33 — the “Wearable Blanket” made in association with Reborn in Color.
Based in Stockholm, Reborn in Color is known for its sustainable pieces that range from bedlinen and pajamas to down-filled accessories exclusively made from deadstock fabrics and vintage textiles. This same ethos has been applied to Byredo’s “Wearable Blanket,” which is made using 100% recycled down blankets that have been resewn to create two oversized jackets coming in “Washed-Out Black” and “Bubblegum Pink.”
The jacket is inspired by the feeling of a cool, crisp bed and being wrapped up in a down duvet, and as such finds itself filled with 70% recycled down and 30% recycled feathers. GOTS-certified cotton has been used for the shell’s construction, while a Byproduct-branded canvas bag comes with the jacket.
As expected with an oversized jacket, you’ll find a large hood and pockets with technical drawstrings to pull you in at the hem, while branding appears on the right pocket and inside on a cotton tag.
