Honoring the late Queen Elizabeth II.

On top of releasing the world’s first diamond-shaped coin, The Royal Canadian Mint continues to captivate coin collectors with its inventive releases. Its next circulation coin is no different as it takes Canada‘s two-dollar coin aka The Toonie and gives it a special chemical treatment that turns the nickel black.

This black Toonie is set to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II and her 70 years as head of state of Canada, and the black ring is representative of a mourning armband. This commemorative coin has just started to make its way into banks across the country and an estimated five million are set to be stamped.

In other collectible news, Marvel and East Continental gems release the first batch of collectible Reality Stones.
