Take a Look Inside the "SLAM JAM - NIKE AIR FORCE 1" Exhibition
Displayed at Spazio Maiocchi in Milan.

Slam Jam has announced a new exhibition celebrating its collaboration with Nike for the 40th anniversary of the Air Force 1. Taking at Spazio Maiocchi, a social space located in central Milan, the showcase is hosted in collaboration with design and production office Avoir and features campaign media from Julian Kincewicz.
Inspired by Slam Jam founder Luca Benini’s first trip to the Big Apple in the ’80s, the collaborative AF1s act as a bridge between New York City and Milan. Found in monochromatic black and white colorways, the classic silhouettes are elevated with premium leather materials, woven panels, subtle ribbing details, suede detailing, and uniquely-patterned toe box perforations.
“We’re unique individuals walking on a common ground and under one sky. Together we strive, as we’re complementary. We’re so different, yet so similar,” writes the text overlay on Julian Klincewicz’s commissioned campaign imagery.
Occupying the 1000 square meter space at Spazio Maiocchi are large sculptural installations centered around Slam Jam’s central basketball influences — integrating hoop, ball, and court line motifs. Out in the open-air courtyard is a 3D Nike x Slam Jam logo, splitting the area into black and white halves which highlights the central theme of how we’re all “So Different,” yet “So Similar.”
Look for the “SLAM JAM—NIKE AIR FORCE 1” exhibition at Spazio Maiocchi to continue until December 10. Campaign imagery and clips of Klincewicz’s “A MEMORY” short film can be found below.
