Green Day x Brain Dead Is A Boulevard of Collaborative Dreams
Drawing from the band’s albums ‘Kerplunk’ and ‘Dookie.’

Wake me up when the Green Day x Brain Dead collaboration drops.
In honor of the East Bay Area rock legends, Kyle Ng‘s streetwear stalwart Brain Dead has teamed up with the band to create a tightly-edited capsule collection that draws inspiration from two of its most seminal albums, Dookie and Kerplunk. With this in mind, Brain Dead digs into the tracklists and artwork, using this as the foundation for a graphic-heavy collection comprising apparel, accessories, and homeware.
Leading the pack is the “Dookie” tote bag, it presenting itself as a fully-realized carryable rendition of the Richie Bucher-penned album artwork. As expected from the brand, Brain Dead reworks the art to include its name flying on a banner hanging from a plane, while Green Day’s logo takes center stage on the accessory.
Elsewhere, Kerplunk‘s album artwork is dissected for apparel and homeware, seeing the flower pot on the women’s T-shirt taken out of its surroundings and planted on a gray intarsia knit sweater, and becoming a vase itself.
While little else is known about the collection, those living in Los Angeles will be able to head down to Brain Dead Studios Fairfax on December 1 for a special re-screening of Green Day’s documentary, TURN IT AROUND. Directed by Corbett Redford, narrated by Iggy Pop and executive produced by Green Day, the film explores the story of East Bay punk sounds and highlights the influence of the band’s legacy.
Take a look at the Alexis Gross-shot campaign above, and shop the Green Day collaboration in-store now and online from 10 a.m. PT on December 6.
