Amidst the airing of Season 2 of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime, series creator Gege Akutami delivered a worrying message to fans. During Jump Festa 2023, the man behind the runaway hit manga adapted into a popular anime shared that the end could be near.

“If you accompany me for up to one more year (probably), I will be very happy,” read the written statement from Akutami shared during the event. The news means that the manga, originally serialized in Shueisha‘s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in March 2018, could potentially end sometime next year.

Stay tuned for more news regarding the potential end of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga.

Last year, Shueisha revealed that the Jujutsu Kaisen manga hit a massive sales milestone with 30 million copies in circulation. The milestone is also notable as the digital and physical releases spiked from 20 million to 30 million in just a month, most likely due to the popularity of the anime adaptation.

For more entertainment news, a new Pokémon series has been announced, Ash and Pikachu are set to say their goodbyes.
