Following teasers courtesy of A$AP NAST and a short video from the duo itself, Stüssy and Dries Van Noten have come together to explore their upcoming collaboration in an official campaign fronted by Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ founding member and bassist, Flea.

Shot by Tyrone Lebon, the campaign sees Flea in his usual happy-go-lucky state, bouncing around the room while playing his bass guitar, playing basketball, or simply jumping for joy as he wears the collaborative garments from Stüssy x Dries Van Noten.

In a collaboration that many were shocked to see, it all becomes apparent that the collection was meant to be — Stüssy’s So-Cal style is accentuated by Dries’ ability to play with and manipulate colors and patterns. Psychedelia runs throughout, as paraphernalia adorns the rear of a military green parka coat alongside a myriad of colors blending together like a rainbow smoke screen. Peace signs, florals and embroidered appliqués can be found across the stand-out garment, influencing much of what else can be found in the capsule.

The collaborative effort continues with dual-branded tie-dye T-shirts, sweatpants, and sweatshirts, camp collar shirts, loose-fitting printed jeans, and a rhinestone smoking blazer and pants — the latter being the most evocative of Dries’ work. What would be a simple black suit has been given the duo’s irreverent makeover, dazzling in the light as rhinestones create sparkling pinstripes all over the Dries Van Noten-tailored blazer and trousers. Elsewhere, the designer’s use of ink-like spills blow-out on trackpants in more psychedelic forms, while Stüssy emblems like the 8-ball also sport a DVN makeover on pieces like the varsity jacket.

Stüssy and Dries Van Noten will be available worldwide at select chapter stores, select Dover Street Market locations, Dries Van Noten stores, on Stüssy’s website and Dries Van Noten’s website, on Friday, November 18 at 10 a.m. PST, 10 a.m. CET, and 10 a.m JST per the respective region.
