Delivering a sci-fi punch-up to its already iconic lineup of eyeglasses and shades, Oakley® has teamed up with STAPLE for a new collection that takes inspiration from the brand’s past.

The new collection features a reinterpretation of the brand’s 1992 and 2022 “Sub Zero” glasses that offer a “Throwback” to the future with limited-edition eyewear options. With its two-part collaboration, Oakley® and STAPLE have incorporated a premium “Prizm Black” lens for each pair of shades.

Additionally, the recognizable STAPLE “Pigeon” logo is laser-etched onto the glasses lens, with each pair of frames weighing less than an ounce. White marble-inspired design also finds its way into the collection (on the temple area) to contrast the all-black design of the frames.

Commenting on the reinterpreted design elements, STAPLE Founder, Jeff Staple, says: “For this collaboration, we reinvented a revered Oakley classic – the Sub Zero. To me, these frames encapsulate Oakley’s unmatched technical innovation and have an unmatched sleek and futuristic design.”

“We put our own spin on both glasses, giving them a laser-etched Pigeon logo and a timeless marble-inspired design,” he adds.

The new collection of the lens will become available on November 3 and can be found on the Oakley and STAPLE websites.

Elsewhere in fashion, Fortnite and Polo Ralph Lauren joined forces for a new phygital launch.
