With well over a decade of collaborative releases under their belt, Japanese streetwear brand NEIGHBORHOOD and German sportswear giant adidas have linked up countless times for various footwear and apparel launches. First teased in December 2021 and following an initial limited release in January, NEIGHBORHOOD’s latest take on the adidas NMD makes its return.

Arriving in two “Paisley” colorways, NEIGHBORHOOD taps into its often used Americana inspiration with the sneaker’s bandana-inspired print throughout its upper. “Core Black” and “Night Navy” serve as the two color options as both see the once dominant sneaker dressed in a vintage look. Aside from the intricate patterning on the upper’s base, tonal branding from adidas, including its typical Three Stripes, appears throughout the upper. Adding to this, the NMD’s midsole plugs match its respective colorway with the lateral plug towards the toe carrying white “NEIGHBORHOOD” branding. A full-length BOOST midsole wraps up the look in a two-tone presentation that goes from “Core Black” or “Night Navy” to a yellowed finish, replicating what a white BOOST midsole looks like after aging and wear.

For those interested in grabbing a pair of either colorway, adidas has opened its CONFIRMED drawings for both NEIGHBORHOOD x adidas NMD R1 “Paisley” looks. Winners will be notified November 28 when the raffle concludes with each pair costing $160 USD.

In other news from the Three Stripes, FACE and atmos have come together to outfit the adidas Samba with embroidered daisies.
